Problems

As with any human activity problems and disputes can occur with your job situation. It is generally better to try and resolve any problems with the employer first. If you are unable to do this you can seek advice with a solicitor (lawyer) or at a Citizens Advice Bureau.

In extreme circumstances you can take the employer to court using the online money claim service or by going to a County Court (Small Claims). This is a relatively easy and inexpensive solution but can take several months. Sometimes if you threaten to take this course of action this will be enough to resolve the dispute.

Note: It is very rare that an employer does not pay someone for work done, and it is not worth worrying about this possibility too much.
